 The backdrop mural is from a painting commissioned for the program by Omaha artist Jean Mason. The painting was designed to reflect the various eras and icons of the city. The process started with a stack of photocopies reflecting key historic images that we shared with Jean. We asked her to work in her signature style and vibrant color palette. She pretty much took it from there and created an amazing montage of images for us. Originally painted on canvas, the painting, which she calls Vibrant Omaha, was then photographed and blown up via digital imaging. A digital press process was used to turn the image into a wall-size portable fabric backdrop that was used for all the interviews. |
